LENOX, Mass. -- Erin Czelusniak scored a pair of goals, and the Lenox girls soccer team scored three times in the second half to earn a 4-1 win over Mount Everett on Friday.

“I was very impressed with Mount Everett’s play, and they showed a higher intensity than we did in the first half,” Lenox coach Kyle Zinchuk said. “They played smart soccer and pressured us at the right moments and were quick on their counter attack.

“I thought we did a better job of matching their intensity and picking up our pace of play in the second half, which allowed us to control the ball for longer stretches of time, resulting in better scoring chances.”

Those chances mounted up against Mount Everett keeper Emma Goewey, who played a strong game, stopping 17 shots, despite coming out on the wrong side of the scoreboard.

Lenox struck first midway through the first half when Aliza Munch set up Solia Herndon-Schmid.

The Eagles answered with a goal from Serena Batacchi, assisted by Emily Steuernagle, five minutes later.

Munch scored with help from Herndon-Schmid forthe game-winner five minutes into the second half.

Czelusniak added a pair of insurance goals in the final 16 minutes.

Taylor Knight and Julia Haddad combined to make nine saves for Lenox (7-5-1), which goes to Wahconah on Tuesday.

Mount Everett (2-9-2) hosts Taconic on Monday.
