NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- After playing one of its best games of the year in a 3-1 win over rival Hoosac Valley on Thursday, the Drury girls' soccer team followed it up with one of its worst performances of the 2011 season, losing 3-0 to Wahconah on Tuesday.

Despite playing at home, the Blue Devils (4-4-2) were the more passive team. Molly Meczywor's club was outshot 20-4 in the game and went down 2-0 within the first 15 minutes of play on goals by Courtney Quinn and Marisa Sprague. Melisa Taikowski then put the game away by scoring a weak-side goal with 8:36 remaining in the second half.

"Basically, we did not show up to play today," Meczywor said. "We had no physical presence and got pushed around and beat to 50/50 balls. We couldn't muster any offense because, honestly, we did not have possession for any substantive amount of time.

"Defensively, Chelsea DeGroff and Morgan LaMarre were outstanding, doing a nice job on tackles, containing and goal-side defense. They attempted to create offense, but we weren't physical enough to maintain possession in the midfield and forward line. Once again, Ali Tatro made some outstanding saves to ensure this was not a blowout."

Tatro ended up making 17 saves in the Drury goal, while Jess Yarmey stopped four shots to earn the shutout for the Warriors (5-3-2).

"One bright spot is the low number of corner kicks we surrendered to the Warriors," Meczywor said. "We worked on that in practice and the extra time seemed to pay off. We are a much better team than what we demonstrated today, however, and I hope the girls come ready to play against Lee on Friday."

The Devils host the Wildcats at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
