Monument Mountain Girls Pull Away from Drury in Second Half

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Monument Mountain girls soccer team defeated Drury, 5-1, Wednesday evening.
 
Monument opened the scoring early with  Meri Powell found Molly Flynn in the sixh minute.  Monument doubled the lead in the 37th minute when Aubrey Blanchard scored unassisted.
 
Drury fought back in the closing minute of the half, with Elli Miles sending a diagonal ball to Hayley Shook, who finished far post to make it 2-1 going into the half.
 
Monument took control in the second half, limiting Drury to just two additional shots.  Monument tallied three additional goals: Maya Cooney from Meri Powell (11th minute), Meghan Kinne unassisted (21st minute) and Lauren Kinne from Fiona Horan (24th minute).
 
Helen Pajeski had four saves in the win for Monument
 
Mackenzie Dobbert had seven saves for Drury in the loss.
