PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Elli Miles scored with fewer than 10 minutes to play to give the Drury girls soccer team a 1-1 tie with Hoosac Valley on Sunday afternoon at Berkshire Community College.

Sydni Jamross gave the Hurricanes a 1-0 lead when she converted off Tia Kareh's corner kick.

"We did a nice job of maintaining possession but we were getting tired and losing our focus," Hoosac Valley coach Kathy Budaj said.

"With less than 10 minutes left, Elli fired a very nice shot over [Emma Meczywor's] head to tie the game. This gave them momentum and they pressured."

Meczywor made seven saves in the Hurricanes' goal.

Drury keeper Mackenzie Dobbert stopped six shots.

"I was proud of how the girls never gave up and created opportunities time and time again until we got the breakthrough late in the game," Drury coach Maria Bartini said.

Drury (3-3-1) hosts Lenox on Tuesday.

Hoosac Valley (3-4-1) hosts Monument Mountain on Monday.
