SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Not a lot of good came out of the McCann Tech girls' soccer team's 4-0 loss at Mount Everett on Monday.

For the first time this season, the Hornets (3-2) were shut out on the offensive end, while leading scorer Mary Nguyen and stopper Katie Hancock each suffered injuries that could require them to miss some games going forward.

Deseraye Conaway gave the Eagles (1-2) a 1-0 lead 15 minutes into the first half. McCann kept the game close until Haley Finn scored a pair of goals in a 10-minute span midway through the second half. Claire Tomich then put the game away by scoring Everett's final goal with three minutes left in the game.

Senior Becky Daniels and sophomore Alex Wood split time in the Hornets' net. Each player gave up two goals, with Daniels collecting 15 saves to six stops for Wood.

McCann is back in action again on Tuesday with a home game against Putnam at 4 p.m.
