PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Madeline VonRuden set up two goals as the Mount Everett girls soccer team beat Taconic, 3-0, on Thursday evening at Berkshire Community College.

The Eagles (6-1) got goals from Emily Coon and Logan Rathbun in the first 12 minutes of the game to take an early lead.

Chelsea Balestro added an unassisted goal early in the second half.

"The team played their best game yet," Mount Everett coach Jess Mutagh said after the Eagles won their third straight. "They were moving the ball extremely well throughout the field, and the offensive players were possessing the ball, distributing at the right time and hustling."

Mount Everett outshot Taconic by a margin of 19-9.

Madison Ullrich made the nine saves she needed to make to earn a shutout.

Mount Everett hosts Drury on Monday, when Taconic goes to Clapp Park to meet St. Joseph.
