McGrath Leads Drury Girls Past Hoosac Valley

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Megan McGrath scored a pair of goals Friday to lead the Drury girls soccer team to a 3-1 win over Hoosac Valley in the teams’ regular season finales.
 
Madison Saunders opened the scoring for the Blue Devils with an unassisted goal in the first minute of the contest.
 
McGrath converted a penalty kick in the 11th minute to put the hosts up, 2-0.
 
Late in the first half, Tia Kareh set up Gabby Billetz for a goal to get the Hurricanes on the scoreboard.
 
But McGrath added an insurance goal in the 51st minute to provide the final margin.
 
Brooke Bishop made three saves to earn the win in goal.
 
Emma Meczywor stopped four shots for Hoosac Valley, which finishes the season 5-11-2.
 
Drury (15-2-1) learns Wednesday where and against whom it will begin play in the state tournament.
