CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Three different players Thursday scored for the Hoosac Valley girls soccer team in a 3-1 win over Frontier that clinched a berth in the Western Massachusetts tournament.

Olivia Bresett, Claudia Bresett and Madison Graves each scored to give the Hurricanes (9-3-1) a 3-0 lead midway through the second half. Frontier finally got on the board in the 75th minute.

“This was a nice win for the girls on senior day,” Hoosac coach Kathy Budaj said. “They all worked so hard and moved the ball well. Overall, it was a great team effort.

“The seniors came to play today and each one had a great game. This win is something we have been talking about, making the tournament, and they showed that they really wanted to win.”

Kailynne Frederick stopped two shots to earn the win between the pipes.

Hoosac Valley closes with five straight road games starting Saturday at Southwick.
