NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Hoosac Valley girls' soccer team kept a talented, undefeated Lenox team at bay for the first 30 minutes of the game on Wednesday. But once the Millionaires broke through on a goal by Lydia Graham in the 32nd minute, the floodgates opened up wide, allowing Lenox to cruise to a 4-0 win at the MCLA Athletic Complex.

Jen Delasco finished off the win for the Millionaires by scoring the final three goals, her first coming three minutes before halftime and the second one breaking the back of the Hurricanes (4-2-4) just one minute into the second half. Nicole Babich ended up with two assists for Lenox.

"We played Lenox strong for 30 minutes but just couldn't sustain the level of play they brought," Hoosac head coach Blair Mahar said. "Lenox is a well coached and disciplined team. Their goal in the first minute of the second half really knocked us in the gut, and we never recovered."

Senior Jessica Gale led the Hurricanes' defensive effort that kept the Millionaires scoreless in the first 30 and last 30 minutes of the game. Lenox held a 19-3 edge in shots, however, forcing Hoosac goalie Megan Richardson into making 14 saves. Kathy Prescott only need to make one stop to earn the shutout in net for the visitors.

The 'Canes next play at Mount Everett at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
