Dougherty Hat Trick Propels Wahconah Girls

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Amelia Dougherty’s hat trick Saturday led the Wahconah girls soccer team to a 5-0 win over Pittsfield at Kirvin Park.
 
Dougherty scored twice in the first eight minutes -- both on assists from Arden McKnight.
 
Emmy Cote then scored an unassisted goal and set up Johanna Esko’s goal to give Wahconah a 4-0 lead at half-time.
 
Dougherty then scored her seventh of the year midway through the second half with an assist from Esko to provide the final margin.
 
Sage Howes stopped six shots to earn the shutout win.
 
Haley Tobin made six saves for Pittsfield (2-6-2), which hosts Ludlow on Thursday.
 
Wahconah (8-4) goes to Weston on Saturday.
