LENOX, Mass. -- The Lenox girls soccer team answered an early goal by Wahconah with one of its own and earned a 1-1 tie on Thursday.

Maria Gamberoni got the scoring started with a tally in the eighth minute with help from sister Olivia Gamberoni.

But just four minutes later, Aliza Munch set up Solia Herndon-Schmid for the equalizer.

Ella Hall made 14 saves in the Lenox goal to hold Wahconah at bay.

At the other end, Eva Eberwein made five saves for Wahconah.

"After playing our first game just two days ago against PHS and suffering a tough loss, it was great to see our girls bounce back and come out hard against a strong Wahconah team," Lenox coach Brian Seminara said.

"By the second half, our weakened bench due to injuries started to show and Wahconah's 13 seniors and six juniors led the charge to take much of the possession. Freshman Ella Hall and the defense were up to the task and able to keep Lenox level in the game at one all."

Lenox (0-1-1) plays Mount Greylock on Sunday at Berkshire Community College.

Wahconah is at BCC on Tuesday against Pittsfield.
