GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Molly Flynn scored two goals Wednesday to lead the Monument Mountain girls soccer team to a 3-1 win over Mount Greylock.

Aubrey Blanchard scored a goal, and Gabi DeFelice set up both Flynn’s goals, including the one that gave the Spartans a 2-0 lead early in the second half.

“I was happy with the game overall,” Monument Mountain coach Jess Platt said. “We played well to feet and earned every shot we had on net. Mount Greylock was a great opponent.”

The Mounties cut the lead in half when Clara McWeeny set up Maddy Ross in the 57th minute, but Blanchard’s goal pushed it back to a two-goal margin.

Helen Pajeski made four saves to earn the win in goal.

Isabella Nicastro stopped five shots for Mount Greylock (2-1), which goes to Lenox on Friday.

Monument Mountain (2-0) travels to play Granby on Saturday.
