Mount Greylock Girls Shut Out Hoosac Valley

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Elizabeth Dupras and Jacqueline Wells each scored a pair of goals on Friday to lead the Mount Greylock girls soccer team to an 8-0 win over Hoosac Valley.
 
Lucy McWeeny, Alexa Politis, Livia Morales and Delaney Babcock each scored a goal, and Clara McWeeny had two assists in the win.
 
"We are growing and learning a lot," Hoosac Valley coach Kathy Budaj said. "Playing Greylock twice and Wahconah once is a great way to start our season. We are taking our lumps, but it will only make us better in the end.
 
"I was happy that we are working on doing the right things and as we continue to focus on the the basics we will be moving forward in the right direction."
 
Emily Godfrey and Emma Meczywor combined to stop eight shots for the Hurricanes (0-3)
 
Briana Dowling made two saves to earn the shutout for Mount Greylock (3-0).
 
The Mounties go to Lee on Tuesday.
 
Hoosac Valley is at Pittsfield on April 11.
