LEE, Mass. — The Lee girls' soccer team won the first half, but Mount Greylock rallied back to take the second half, leaving the two squads to settle for a 2-2 draw on Thursday.

The Wildcats (2-0-1) came out swinging, quickly taking the early lead on an unassisted goal by senior Stephanie Young just two minutes into the game. The score remained the same for much of the first half until senior Megan Gaul tallied another Lee goal with less than two minutes remaining before halftime.

The Mounties (1-0-1) regrouped during the break, however, and quickly answered back three minutes into the second half when senior Alexandra DeVeaux scored off an assist from sophomore Kelsey Orpin. Tom Ostheimer's club fought hard to net the equalizer, eventually scoring in the 65th minute when Alex Majetich found junior Miranda Bucky for the game-tying goal.

It's hard to tell if the ending was satisfying for Greylock, which held a 14-8 edge in shots and a 12-3 advantage in corner kicks in the game. Senior Margot Besnard finished with eight saves in goal for the Mounties, while Sara Middleton was credited with 12 stops for the Wildcats.

Greylock returns to action with a home game against Mount Anthony at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Lee next hosts Drury at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
