Belchertown Scores Two Late in 3-0 Win Over Pittsfield Girls

BELCHERTOWN, Mass. -- Kayla Henry scored twice as the Belchertown girls soccer team used three second-half goals to defeat Pittsfield, 3-0, on Tuesday in the opener for both schools.
 
Henry broke a scoreless tie in the 51st minute. The Orioles added two more with fewer than six minues left to put the game out of reach.
 
The Generals generated seven shots on goal. Allie Hunt made nine saves in the Pittsfield goal.
 
Last year, Pittsfield and Belchertown finished the regular season seeded sixth and seventh, respectively, in the MiAA Western Massachusetts Division 1 tournament. Each lost by one goal in the sectional quarter-finals.
 
Pittsfield hosts East Longmeadow on Thursday.
