CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Lindsey Schnopp scored twice, and Hannah Dargie had a goal and an asssist for the Pittsfield girls soccer team in a 4-2 win over Hoosac Valley on Monday.

The Generals (7-0-1) took a 3-0 lead into half-time after Schnopp started things off with a goal in the eighth minute with help from Dargie.

Mary Piacenti set up Schnopp for her second goal, and Ilana Albert fed Dargie to make it a three-goal lead at half-time.

Hoosac's Claudia Bresett got the Hurricanes on the board midway through the second half.

Albert set up Julia Eline-Wright to push Pittsfield's lead to 3-1 before Hoosac's Allie Mendel set up Chloe Martel with five minutes left to provide the final margin.

"Pittsfield is a good team, and they move the ball well," Hoosac Valley coach Kathy Budaj said. "I see us getting better each game. The girls are really starting to work together
and possess the ball which led to some great transition during the game.

"I keep telling them that they need to keep working hard and good things will come. It was nice to see them work hard and score goals even though we were down."

Kailynne Frederick made 11 saves for the Hurricanes (2-5-1), who have a rematch with the Generals on Wednesday at Kirvin Park in Pittsfield.

Pittsfield's Allie Hunt made nine saves.
