Pittsfield Girls Qualify for Western Mass

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Ilana Albert scored two goals to lead the Pittsfield girls soccer team to a 4-0 win over Mount Greylock on Friday as the Generals clinched a berth in the Western Massachusetts tournament.
 
Molly Tierney had a goal and an assist for Pittsfield, which ran its record to 9-1 and stayed a perfect 6-0 in the Berkshire County North.
 
Tierney scored the only goal of the first half with an assist from Lindsey Schnopp.
 
Albert opened the second half by scoring on a penalty kick and then cashed in an assist from Tierney to make it 3-0.
 
PHS benefited from an own goal late off a Tierney corner kick.
 
Allie Hunt earned the shutout win in goal.
 
Pittsfield travels to face Mahar on Saturday.
 
Mount Greylock (5-5-1) host Westfield on Monday at 1 p.m.
