Schnopp's Hat Trick Lifts Generals Past Mount Greylock

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Allie Schnopp scored three straight goals Monday to lead the Pittsfield girls soccer team to a 4-2 win over Mount Greylock.
 
Schnopp opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the eighth minute, and it stayed 1-0, Generals for the rest of the first half.
 
In the 44th minute, she converted an assist from Emery Sime to make it 2-0.
 
Liz Swanson set up Schnopp for a goal to complete her hat trick 10 minutes later, and Sadie Tierney made it a 4-0 Pittsfield lead in the 66th minute.
 
The extra insurance came in handy when Jane Skavlem and Clara McWeeny found the back of the net for the Mounties in the last 10 minutes of play.
 
Delaney Babcock stopped eight shots for Mount Greylock (8-2-1), which goes to Taconic on Friday.
 
Lexy Swanson earned the win with nine saves for Pittsfield (3-6-1), which has a rematch with Hoosac Valley on Thursday at Kirvin Park.
