Lenox Girls Top Mount Everett to Open 2-0

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Solia Herndon-Schmid scored early in the first half to send the Lenox girls soccer team on to a 2-0 win over Mount Everett on Thursday.
 
Erin Czelusniak set up Herndon-Schmid for the eventual game-winner in the 12th minute of play.
 
Aliza Munch scored unassisted in the second half to give the Millionaires some insurance.
 
"Both teams played a well paced game, and in the end Lenox had too much depth," Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. :My girls played really well for the first time out and even though we have some banged up kids a lot of the younger girls played well."
 
Emma Goewey made 15 saves for the Eagles (0-1).
 
Sophie Patella stopped five shots for Lenox (2-0), which plays its third of five road games to open the season when it goes to Taconic on Monday.
 
Mount Everett hosts Pittsfield on Monday.
