CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Shaleigh Levesque scored, and Gabby Billetz made 11 saves to help the Hoosac Valley girls soccer team beat Lenox, 2-0, on Thursday.

“Great battle for both teams,” Hoosac Valley coach Kathy Budaj said. “We were more hungry today, wanting the ball in the box, and were able to put the ball in. Both teams had some great chances and the keepers did a great job.

“It was nice to build off of our momentum from Tuesday.”

Hoosac Valley (2-2) came off a strong outing in a 2-1 loss at Monument Mountain two days earlier.

On Thursday, Levesque scored with an assist from Cairagan Greene, and the Millionaires gave up an own goal to account for the scoring.

Billetz and Emily Godfrey combined to stop 12 shots in the Hurricanes goal.

Taylor Knight made 15 stops for Lenox.

The Millionaires (5-2) host Lee on Monday.

Hoosac Valley goes to Mohawk Trail on Friday.
