LENOX, Mass. -- Lily McDermott and Lucy Igoe each scored a goal Friday as the Mount Greylock girls soccer team earned a 2-0 win at Lenox.

McDermott scored the game-winner with an assist from Zoe Armet in the 15th minute.

Early in the second half, Maggie Brody set up Igoe for an insurance goal.

"Their midfield did an excellent job of breaking up any attack we had and keeping the pressure on our defense," Lenox coach Brian Seminara said. "Unfortunately, in the second half, our starting keeper Ella [Hall] got injured, which caused us to move a few players around into different positions which was definitely a struggle for us, but we pushed all we could and Greylock kept us on our heels for much of the game.

"It was a great game overall, chips just didn't fall out way. We look forward to taking these lessons learned and moving forward with them into Western Mass tournament and State tournament."

Hall and Aliza Munch combined for 14 saves.

Mai O'Connor stopped four shots to earn the shutout for Mount Greylock.

The Mounties (12-4) and Millionaires (11-4-1) learn this weekend their semi-final opponents in this week's PVIAC's Western Mass tournament. Both also are eligible for November's state championships.
