One of this week's iBerkshires.com/Southwestern Vermont Health Care Athletes of the Week is done for the fall. The other is on one of a handful of teams still battling to advance in the state tournament.

High school golf is done for 2021, and Max DiGrigoli and the Lenox Millionaires went out with a bang, placing fourth at the D3 Championships in Northbridge.

As an individual, DiGrigoli carded a round of 10-over 82 at Shining Rock Golf Club, which tied him for fourth in a field of 84, just one stroke out of second place.

Already this season, he helped Lenox go through the Berkshire County regular season with an undefeated record in match play and win a Western Massachusetts championship.

Now that the days are getting shorter and the golf courses are closing for the winter, DiGrigoli will turn in his clubs for poles and return to the slopes at Bousquet, where last year he was one of the top skiers in the county in an abbreviated season.

Olivia Gamberoni and the Wahconah girls soccer team are not looking to hang up their cleats any time soon.

Thirteenth-seeded Wahconah earned a 2-0 win in the first round of the Division 4 State Tournament and will look for an upset on Tuesday when it visits No. 4 Millbury for a berth in the quarter-finals.

After going 6-10-2 in the regular season, Wahconah is one of several Berkshire County teams who have advanced in the state tournament with sub-.500 records, proving that they made the most of a challenging schedule.

Gamberoni is one of the veterans from a Wahconah team that roared through the "Fall 2" season last spring with an undefeated record and a county championship. The sophomore picked up where she left off this fall, leading Wahconah in goals and assists, including a goal in Thursday's State Tournament opener against Easthampton.

The iBerkshires.com Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Southwestern Vermont Health Care.
