LEE, Mass. -- Caroline Maloney scored early in the second half, and Maeve Finnegan made 14 saves to backstop the Lee girls soccer team to a 1-0 win over Lenox on Friday.
“It was an intensely played game with both teams having scoring opportunities in the first half,” Lee coach Lauren Finnegan said.
“The second half started the same until 12 minutes in when Caroline Maloney [scored] the lone goal with a pass from Brady Cook.”
Finnegan and the Wildcats defense stood up to preserve the lead as Lee improved to 8-5-2 this fall.
Julia Haddad made 10 saves for Lenox (7-8-1), which finishes the regular season at home against Taconic on Monday.
Lee goes to Pope Francis on Saturday.
