HUNTINGTON, Mass. -- McCann Tech’s defensive strategy held for 39 minutes in Monday’s Western Massachusetts Division 4 quarter-final.

 

But second-seeded Gateway (13-2-4) broke through for a goal just before half-time and added three more in the second half for a 4-0 win and a berth in Wednesday’s semi-final against Mount Everett, a 5-0 winner over Smith Vocational on Monday.

 

Ava Auclair scored twice for the Gators.

 

Alanza Quinones made 19 saves for McCann Tech (13-8).
