Wahconah Volleyball Edges Lee in Five Sets in North Semi-Finals

DALTON, Mass. -- If Thursday's game was the last to be played in Ed Ladley Gymnasium, Wahconah closed it down in style.
 
Kaylee O'Bryan passed out 30 assists to lead her team to a five-set win over Lee in the semi-finals of the Berkshire County North Division semi-finals.
 
Wahconah waits for the winner of Friday's semi-final between top-seeded Mount Greylock and Lenox, a winner over Pittsfield on Thursday.
 
If the Mounties win on Friday, the title game will be played Saturday in Williamstown.
 
On Thursday night, O'Bryan had a triple double, addeing 17 digs and 10 kills to her 30 assists as Wahconah won by scores of 25-22, 15-25, 25-13, 19-25, 15-13.
 
McKenzie LaBier had 18 kills, and Kassidy Krejmas had 14 kills to go with four aces and a pair of blocks in the win.
 
Lizzy Brown led Lee with 11 kills and 10 digs.
 
Erin Briesois had nine kills and four blocks, and Katelyn Clark had 18 digs for the Wildcats.
 
In the fall, the Wahconah volleyball team will have the privilege of playing the first varsity competitions in the gymnasium at the new high school.
