Taconic Wrestlers Dominate at Taconic Hills Tournament

CRARYVILLE, N.Y. -- Seven different Taconic High wrestlers Sunday took home individual titles from the Taconic Hills High School Tournament.
 
Fourteen Taconic wrestlers in all placed at the event, as the team cruised to a team title with 321.5 points, far outdistancing runner-up Amsterdam, N.Y., which had 221 points.
 
Individual winners for Taconic included Broc Healey (120 pounds), Mike LaFreniere (132), Ryan Scott (145), Michael Puskey (170), Dylan Burke (182), Shawn O’Shea (195) and Eric Packard (220).
 
David Babineau and Ryan Mack finished second at 138 and 285, respectively.
 
Three Taconic wrestlers won third-place matches to finish their day. Andrew Defino (113), David Curtis (126) and Joe LaFreniere (152) each placed third.
 
Ben West finished fourth at 160 pounds, and Payton Quinn placed fifth at 138.
