Dylan Burke Finishes Third at All-State Meet

METHUEN, Mass. -- Taconic senior Dylan Burke went 3-0 on Saturday to win third place at 195 pounds at the All-State Wrestling Championships at Methuen High School.
 
Burke started the second day of the tournament in the consolation bracket against Beverly’s Alexi Echevarria and earned a major decision by a score of 14-5.
 
That led to a rematch with North Andover’s Jack Carbone, who edged Burke by two points on Friday to send Burke into the wrestlebacks.
 
The second time around, Burke earned a 6-2 decision to get to the third-place match.
 
There, he edged Shawn Conniff of King Philip, 6-5, to take the bronze.
 
His performance helped Taconic earn 24 points and finish tied for 34th place out of 97 schools at the event.
 
The team title went to Springfield Central, which finished with 119 points, well ahead of Central Catholic’s 70.5 points in second place.
