Mount Greylock Golfers Win on Senior Day

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Senior Cameron Turner's eagle highlighted Thursday's Senior Day win for the Mount Greylock golf team against visiting Hoosac Valley at Waubeeka Golf Links.
 
Ben Dingman and senior Alex Axt tied for medalist honors at 39 to lead the Mounties to a 160-207 win.
 
"The day started out with loud yells from spectators and players when Cameron Turner made a shot made a shot from 160 out on the par four second hole to get eagle," Mount Greylock coach Mitchell Spooner said. "The shot was perfect, landed just before and rolled right in. This was the first eagle ever on the brand new green that sits at the end of the long par four that was just redesigned by Waubeeka staff at the end of last year."
 
Three Mounties birdied the par-5 eighth hole: Dingman, Axt and senior Cayden Conry. Conry finished at 42, and Owen Petropulos carded a 40 to round out the scoring for Mount Greylock.
 
Hoosac Valley's Ian Cappiello birdied the par-3 second hole on his way to a 43 to lead the Hurricanes.
 
Hoosac Valley also scored rounds from Corey Charron (52), Kale Kondel (54) and Zachary Mungeon and Gabe Bishop, who each finished at 58.
