Budaj Scores Five Goals in Wahconah Girls' Win

DALTON, Mass. -- Jordan Budaj scored five goals to lead the Wahconah girls lacrosse team to an 11-5 win over Pittsfield on Thursday.
 
Emmy Cote and Perin Genaway each scored twice for the Wahconah-McCann cooperative squad (7-1-2).
 
Morgan Francese and McKenna McIlquham each had a goal and an assist, and Shaina Farrell set up three goals for Wahconah, which got five saves from Katie Bachli.
 
"We came out strong in the first half," Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. "At the beginning of the second half they scored two quick ones to bring it to 5-4.
 
"I called a timeout so the girls could regroup and get it together. After that we came out and scored give goals.
 
"Pittsfield played tough, great game."
 
Lydia McKnight scored twice for Pittsfield, which got a goal apiece from Lindsay Curry, Lauren Curry and Shea Hassett.
 
Haley Milne stopped seven shots for the Generals.
