McLaughlin Fires 2-Over 37 to Lead Wahconah to Win

DALTON, Mass. -- Pat McLaughlin registered a pair of birdies en route to a 2-over-par 37 on the front nine at Wahconah Country Club in leading the Wahconah golf team to a 163-204 win over Lee.
 
McLaughlin birdied the par-4 first hole to start his round and picked up a second birdie on the par-4 fifth.
 
He finished three strokes ahead of his teammate, Dan Wilson, who registered a birdie of his own on the par-5 seventh.
 
Tim Kaley (42) and Kristina Cusson (44) also scored for Wahconah.
 
"Very encouraging scores," Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. "We have a very young squad, and shooting 163 is a huge step in the right direction. 
 
"Hats off to Patrick. His work in the off season has really paid off."
 
Colin Durken and Cam Redstone led the Wildcats with scores of 48 and 49, respectively.
 
Wahconah hosts several teams at Wahconah Country Club on Saturday afternoon.
