WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Caroline Hadley had 11 kills Saturday to lead the Mount Greylock volleyball team to a four-set win over Amherst.

Takiera Darrow and Hannah Byrnes each had 10 kills for the Mounties, who prevailed, 25-22, 25-23, 21-25, 25-11.

"I am glad this was a home match and we had the crowd behind us," Mount Greylock coach Greg Geyer said. "This was a four-set win, but could have easily gone five, and three of the four sets were very close and our teams were pretty evenly matched.

"Amherst is also a positively focused team that our Greylock team enjoys seeing each year no matter the outcome."

Darrow had seven blocks, and Gabriella Alvarez recorded 17 assists and four aces. Marley Buffis had 13 digs and five kills.

Mount Greylock hosts Taconic on Monday.
