McCormack Scores Nine in Mount Greylock's Sectional Opener

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Michael McCormack provided all the offense the Mount Greylock boys lacrosse team needed to advance into the semi-finals of the Central-Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament on Saturday.

McCormack scored nine goals and assisted on two more for good measure to lead the top-seeded Mounties to an 18-6 win over St. Bernards.
 
Mount Greylock (18-3) will host Springfield Cathedral (12-7) in the semis either Tuesday or Wednesday. No. 4 Cathedral defeated Belchertown, 11-3, in its quarter-final.
 
Matt Malloy scored four goals, and Cole Hughes and Liam Chenail scored two apiece to lead the Mounties past St. Bernards (12-9).
 
Jonah Kelley and Sean McCormack each scored a goal, and Cole Jackson registered an assist for Mount Greylock, which led 10-3 at half-time.
 
Cal Filson went the distance in the Mount Greylock goal, stopping 13 shots.
 
Curtiss Vachon scored four goals, and Conor McKew had 13 saves for St. Bernards.
