BELCHERTOWN, Mass. -- Melina Sfakianaki won 6-0, 6-0 to highlight a 4-1 win for the Mount Greylock girls tennis team in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament on Sunday afternoon.

The sixth-seeded Mounties (15-3) knocked off the third-seeded Belchertown Orioles (13-6) to advance to the semis, where Mount Greylock will play the winner of today's match between No. 2 Monument (14-0) and No. 7 Greenfield (13-3).

"The singles players set the town, but first doubles had a great come-from-behind three-set victory," Mount Greylock coach John Jaccobe said. "It's nice to get a tourney win and to beat a higher seed."

Sfakianaki's victory came at No. 2 singles. Her sister Mariza won at No. 3, and Tara Shastri won at No. 1.

In doubles play, the tandem of Tyra Nurmi and Charlotte Rand won, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.

At second doubles, Rachel Swoap and Katie Mick lost a tough 6-2, 7-5 decision.
