Pittsfield Boys, Girls Seventh at Western Mass D1 Track Meet

HOLYOKE, Mass. -- Pittsfield's boys and girls each placed seventh at Monday's Western Massachusetts Division 1 Track and Field Championships.
 
Aliyah Bolling placed third in the 100 meters (12.82 seconds) and the 200 (26.08), and the Generals won the 4-by-100 meter relay with a time of 52.09 to edge East Longmeadow (52.20).
 
Taconic's boys tied Pittsfield for seventh place out of 17 teams scoring at the event.
 
Pittsfield's Emmanuel Nda and Emmanuel Amenlemah placed second and fourth, respectively in the 100 in times of 11.35 and 11.63.
 
Amenlemah placed second in the 200 in 23.05.
 
Pittsfield's boys 4-by-100 relay quartet placed second to East Longmeadow, which clocked a time of 43.47, one second ahead of the Generals.
 
Taconic picked up big points in the jumps.
 
In the high jump, Tyler Killbury (5 feet, 11 inches) and Josh Tayi tied for second place.
 
In the triple jump, Abdul and Mohammed Ahmed placed second and third, respectively, for Taconic with marks of 41-09.5 and 41.07.75.
 
Taconic's Lili Lobovits placed fifth in the shot put (31-2.5) and sixth in the discus (84-1).
 
Longmeadow won the girls team title with 118 points. Pittsfield was seventh with 37 points.
 
The boys team title went to Northampton with 122 points. Taconic and Pittsfield tied for seventh with 41 points.
