WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Freshman Celina Savage had 11 kills, and Mount Greylock played its best offense when it needed it most to earn a five-set win over Lenox on Wednesday.

The Mounties (3-0) got 10 kills apiece from Emma Sandstrom and Takiera Darrow. Alyssa Phelps registered a team-high seven aces.

The final scores were 25-22, 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 15-10.

"Mount Greylock used a balanced attack to overcome some struggles from the service line and outlast a balanced and strong Lenox team," Mount Greylock coach Greg Geyer said.

"Lenox was able to take the fourth set after losing star outside attacker Mia Giardina to an ankle sprain. Mount Greylock ran its best offense in the first and fifth sets and finished with a strong hard line shot from Takiera Darrow to notch the win."

Darrow had 10 digs, and Emma Hayward had eight digs to go along with four aces.

Giardina had six kills to lead the Millionaires, who got 24 assists from Maddie Barenski and 13 digs from Ella Smith.

The Mounties go to Lee on Thursday while Lenox visits Monument Mountain.
