Mount Greylock Girls Outduel Lenox

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Grace Malone and Katherine Swann placed second and third, respectively, in leading the Mount Greylock girls cross country team to a dual meet win over Lenox on Wednesday.
 
Lenox’s Grace Elliot crossed the line in 19 minutes, 57.52 seconds to finish just ahead of Malone (20:00.74).
 
But Mount Greylock placed four runners in the top seven en route to the win. Josephine Smith and Ainsley Abel placed fifth and sixth, respectively. Vera De Jong rounded out the scoring for the Mounties, placing 11th in the 75-runner field.
 
Mount Greylock’s girls earned three dual meets on the day, beating Mount Everett and Pittsfield.
 
Lenox’s girls topped Monument Mountain behind Elliot and Alice Culver, who placed fourth overall.
 
Pittsfield’s Sydney Ferris (22:49.08) led the Generals to a pair of dual meet wins. Monument Mountain topped Mount Everett in a dual meet behind a 22nd place finish by Zoe Holmes (25:11.29).
 
Lenox’s boys earned dual meet wins over Mount Greylock and Monument Mountain to go 2-0 on the day behind a first-place run by Dennis Love (18:02.45). He was joined in the top 10 by teammates Harry Touloukian, Renzo Vargas and Andrew McCormack in third, sixth and eighth, respectively.
 
Mount Greylock’s Andrew Petropulos placed fourth in 19:02.25 to lead the Mounties to wins over Mount Everett and Pittsfield.
 
The homesteading Generals earned wins over the Spartans and Eagles. Pittsfield was led by Jack Archey, who placed second in 18:23.92.
 
Monument Mountain’s Colby Sweet placed ninth in 20:10.20 to lead his squad to a dual meet win over Mount Everett.
