NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Taconic baseball team bounced back nicely from a disappointing showing on Sunday against Pittsfield by shutting out Drury, 9-0, at Joe Wolfe Field on Monday.

Jake McNiece struck out three and walked two over six innings before Nick Ruffo came on to pitch the seventh.

Drury coach Patrick Boulger said his starter, Schuyler Robinson, pitched better than the score indicated, allowing just three earned runs among the six he gave up. And Jake Tatro pitched well in relief.

But Drury's offense managed just four hits.

"We did not take advantage of the situations that we had all day today," Boulger said. "We left runners all over the baseball field. We just could not come up with the timely hit when we needed it.

"We made several mental errors and did not show the toughness both mentally and physically that we have recently."

Drury travels to face Hoosac Valley on Tuesday, Pittsfield on Wednesday and Monument Mountain on Friday.
