NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Chase Doyle doubled twice and drove in a pair of runs to help his own cause as he and the Mount Greylock baseball team beat Drury, 9-3, on Friday.

Doyle went 2-for-4 at the plate and scored a run. On the mound, he threw four scoreless innings before handing the ball to eighth-grader Jameson Bayliss, who struck out a pair in three innings of work.

“Chase Doyle was pitching great for us tonight,” Mount Greylock coach Rick Paris said. “He only gave up one hit in four innings, but because of pitch counts and our busy schedule we pulled him after four so he would be available early next week. He also had some great plate appearances tonight with a big RBI double in the second inning and two doubles on the night.”

Oscar Low went 2-for-4 with a double, and Derek Paris doubled and stole three bases for the Mounties.

Noah Miller went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Blue Devils.

Drury (2-3) goes to Wahconah on Saturday afternoon.

Mount Greylock (4-2) hosts Monument Mountain on Saturday.
