NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Jake Whitney threw a complete-game, five-inning one-hitter to lead the Franklin Tech baseball team to an 11-0 win over McCann Tech on Thursday.

Joe Boyden went 3-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs.

McCann Tech’s lone threat came in the fourth, when Austin Buda singled, stole second and moved to third on a fly ball with two out. But Whitney got the next man to ground back to the mound to end the inning.

Chase Vander-Woude and Aaron Livsey split time on the mound for the Hornets.

McCann Tech (4-3) hosts Smith Vocational on Friday.
