Smith Vocational Downs McCann Tech in Western Mass Playoffs

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Smith Vocational’s Race Drobiak struck out nine and scattered three hits Monday to lead the Vikings to a 7-0 win over McCann Tech in the Western Massachusetts Class C quarter-finals.

 

Smith Voc took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, and that is all the support Drobiak needed in setting up a date with top-seeded Mount Greylock in Wednesday’s regional semi-final.

 

Landon Champney had two of the Hornets’ hits and Collin Booth had the other.

 

The Hornets used three pitchers. Aaron Livsey worked two innings in relief, allowing two hits and one unearned run.
