Late Rally Trips Taconic in State Tourney

LAKEVILLE, Mass. – The Apponequet Regional baseball team Sunday rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh to earn a 5-4 win over Taconic in the first round of the Division 5 State Tournament.

 

Ed Ferris led Taconic’s offense, going 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and three RBIs.

 

Kyle McGrath was 2-for-3 with a double.

 

Connor Paronto went the distance on the mound for the Thunder, striking out five, walking one and allowing just two earned runs.

 

Taconic finishes the season with a record of 11-10.
