SOUTHWICK, Mass. -- Nick Guachione homered twice as the Taconic baseball team Saturday pulled off a rare daily double, winning games at two different schools on the same day.

Guachione had his two round-trippers and seven RBIs in a 10-2 win over Southwick, a game that began on May 2.

The Rams and Thunder could not get the full game in that night, so they scheduled the resumption for Saturday evening ... after Taconic played at Springfield Central at 3 p.m.

Fortunately for Taconic, it was able to end the game against Central after five innings, a 19-1 decision that saw Bo Bramer go 3-for-4 and Kaden Codey go 2-for-3 with four RBIs.

Codey also threw 2-1/3 innings, splitting time with Damon Pause on the mound. The pair combined to strike out four and walk three while allowing just one hit.

Pause also threw two innings in the "nightcap," but Adam Lazits got the win with five strong innings, striking out 10, walking one and allowing one earned run.

In addition to Guachione, Sam Sherman had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs.

Taconic (10-1) hosts West Springfield on Monday, the first of seven games in nine days to finish the regular season.
