Sherman's Walkoff Single Lifts Taconic Past West Springfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Sam Sherman singled on a line drive to right to drive in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth as the Taconic baseball team defeated West Springfield, 3-2, on Monday.
 
Stevie Zuccalo started the winning rally with a one-out infield single.
 
Kaden Codey then singled to move Zuccalo into scoring position.
 
Bo Bramer's groundout then moved the winning run to third, and Sherman ended the game one batter later.
 
Sherman went 2-for-5, and Bramer, Zuccalo and Adam Lazits each went 2-for-4 in an 11-hit Taconic attack.
 
Damon Pause earned the win on the mound with one inning of scoreless relief of Sherman, who struck out 11 in seven innings of work.
 
Taconic (11-1) hosts Agawam on Tuesday.
