PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Damon Pause struck out seven and allowed one hit in a complete-game effort Friday as the Taconic baseball team earned its fourth straight shutout, a 5-0 win over East Longmeadow.

Pause got all the offensive support he needed in the bottom of the first, when Matt Lee led off with a solo home run. Antonio Scalise later hit a sacrifice fly, and Pause helped his cause with an RBI single to give Taconic a 3-0 lead.

Scalise led off the third with a home run. And the Thunder tacked on another run in the fifth courtesy of a Christian Salzarulo sacrifice fly.

Pause finished the day with two of Taconic’s six hits, going 2-for-3 with a walk.

The Thunder (7-1) are scheduled to face Pittsfield on Saturday afternoon at Clapp Park.
