NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Matt Koperniak went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs on Wednesday to lead the Hoosac Valley baseball team to a 4-0 win over Drury at Joe Wolfe Field.

But that was only the beginning.

Koperniak also struck out 13 and allowed just three hits in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Hurricanes.

Koperniak’s battery-mate, Jake Swistak, went 2-for-4 at the plate, and J.P. Levesque doubled and scored a run.

Hoosac took an early lead when Koperniak drew a leadoff walk and scored in the first. The ‘Canes tacked on two in the second and gave Koperniak a little more breathing room with a run in the fourth.

Ryan Dubie was the hard-luck loser on the mound for the Blue Devils, striking out seven while allowing seven hits in six innings of work. Zach Yeaton went 1-for-1 with three walks at the plate for Drury.

Hoosac Valley (6-5) goes to Lenox on Friday.

Drury (6-6) will look to snap a five-game skid when Taconic visits on Thursday.
