Potash Homer Lifts Pittsfield over Hoosac Valley

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Hunter Potash hit a two-run homer in a three-run third to lead the Pittsfield baseball team to a 3-2 win over Hoosac Valley on Tuesday.
 
The Generals went to the bottom of the third down, 1-0.
 
Lucien Lamoureaux led off with an infield single and stole second before Ian Benoit reached on an error to put runners at the corners.
 
Joe Traversa hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game, setting the stage for Potash' go-ahead homer.
 
Benoit earned the complete-game win on the mound, striking out five and scattering seven hits.
 
Henry Sniezek doubled for the Hurricanes.
 
Devin Kogut took the loss on the mound, allowing two earned runs on seven hits.
 
The Hurricanes (1-3) go to Monument Mountain on Thursday.
 
Pittsfield (6-0) hosts East Longmeadow on Saturday.
