Free Reigns as Spartans Post Shutout

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Peter Free delivered a two-hitter on the mound and helped his cause with a triple, a double and three runs batted in Monday to lead the Monument Mountain baseball team to a 9-0 win over Hoosac Valley.
 
Camden Raifstanger and Jayder Raifstanger each went 3-for-4 in a 12-hit Monument Mountain attack. Jayder Raifstanger matched Free with three RBIs.
 
Cole Bissalion doubled and drove in a run, and Marco Buffoni had an RBI and scored twice.
 
On the mound, Free struck out six and walked just one in the complete-game win.
 
Matthew Szabo and Logan Davis each had a hit for the Hurricanes. Szabo started on the mound and went six innings.
 
The Hurricanes host Drury on Wednesday.
 
Monument Mountain (5-6) goes to Lenox on Tuesday.
