Wahconah Scores 13 in Semi-Final Win

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Ben Schmitt went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs as the Wahconah baseball team outslugged No. 1 seeded South Hadley, 13-9, on Wednesday in the Western Massachusetts Division 3 quarter-finals.
 
Cam Taylor went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple, and Matt Schneider and Shane Sinopol each had two hits, including a double, in a 15-hit Wahconah attack.
 
Gage Frazier and Patrick Butler combined for the win. Frazier struck out five and walked one while allowing four earned runs in four innings. Butler allowed no runs in three innings.
 
Fourth-seeded Wahconah (15-8) moves on to Saturday morning’s sectional final against third-seeded Frontier.
