Womble Ks 14 to Lead Taconic Past Wahconah

DALTON, Mass. -- Christian Womble struck out 14 Thursday to lead the Taconic baseball team to a 4-2 win over Wahconah.
 
Womble allowed just three hits and walked five in the complete-game win.
 
Anton Lazits went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead Taconic's offense. Cedric Rose and Austin Rachiele each went 1-for-3; Rose drive in a run, and Rachiele scored twice.
 
Kyle Lee was the hard-luck loser for Wahconah, giving up all four runs but just two earned runs in five innings of work. Wahconah committed three errors on the afternoon.
 
Gabe Davis and Joe Woronick each drove in a run for Wahconah (6-12), which hosts Monument Mountain on Saturday in the first round of its tournament.
 
Taconic (15-4) finishes the regular season on Saturday at Mount Greylock.
