Taconic Baseball Stays Unbeaten Going to Friday's Showdown with PHS

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Anton Lazits went 2-for-5 with a double and four RBIs, and the Taconic baseball team scored seven times in the top of the first on its way to 13-1 win over Mount Greylock on Wednesday.
 
Christian Womble also went 2-for-5, and Luke Whitehouse had four RBIs.
 
Womble went 5-⅔ innings to earn the win on the mound, striking out 11 and walking three before giving the ball to Stevie Zuccalo in the sixth.
 
Mount Greylock’s Derek Paris went 2-for-2 with a walk and scored the Mounties only run.
 
Mount Greylock (4-2) goes to Hoosac Valley on Thursday.
 
Taconic (7-0) plays Pittsfield (7-0) on Friday at Clapp Park in a battle of unbeatens.
